For more than 25 years, Persatuan Layang-Layang dan Wau Johor Bahru has been organising the annual Pasir Gudang Kite Festival. Through this festival and many other initiatives, the organisation has ensured that this pastime and the traditional craft of Wau making remains alive in this southern state.
Since its formation many years ago, the association has garnered much recognition locally and abroad. The festival has grown into an international event and has seen participation from several countries around the world. Participants often take weeks if not months to build and test their kites before the big festival.
The organization has given a platform for all to enjoy this simple pastime and has brought joy to thousands of people from around the world to know the pleasures of kite flying.
