The UN Global Compact
Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB) is the official local network to the
United Nations Global Compact (UNGC).
United Nations Global Compact
(UNGC) is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to
take actions to advance broader societal goals and the UNGCMYB supports
Malaysian & Bruneian members in enabling them to contribute towards the
SDGs and achieve business excellence via our 10 principles, programmes and
tools while providing access to partnerships with a range of stakeholders – to
share best practices and emerging solutions. We also seek to position Malaysian
and Bruneian businesses as a benchmark and a primary agent in driving a
sustainable world.
As a programme that has been
recognised by the United Nations in Malaysia as a Good Practice SDG Award
Provider, Iskandar Malaysia Social Hero Awards (IMSHA) aspires to work closely
with private sector businesses to further the Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs) ambition of the region by getting credible NGOs and NGIs to work hand in
hand with them.
This synergy will enable more
traceable and meaningful social outcomes as the NGOs will play their role as
subject matter experts and the businesses will get to be involved with more
meaningful outreach programmes to fulfil their corporate social responsibility
engagements.
In collaboration with Iskandar
Malaysia, Social Hero Foundation and Iskandar Malaysia Social Hero Awards
(IMSHA), UNGCMYB aims to facilitate and provide strategic partnerships with the
private sector actors who are looking to advance their social and environmental
footprint in Johor by working with the IMSHA Winners NGO network.
UNGCMYB will also provide key
insights and resources to be utilised in the form of reports and toolkits for
both business and non-business aspirations to achieve the SDGs.
