Momo Love Concept

Driven by her passion for charity, Chris Pang Hwei Sim, mother of three, opened Momo Love Concept (MLC) in 2018, a unique shop that sells second-hand items donated by well-wishers and good Samaritans. The profits are channeled to fund targeted charity projects. The shop offers a sustainable way of providing aid to those in need while allowing others to experience the joy of giving.

According to Chris, the idea to create the space had started brewing in her mind long back. She saw the opportunity to realise her idea when a shop lot became available next to her existing makeup and nail academy.

“All the items are pre-loved. For clothes, we filter and clean them before it goes on sale for around RM10 to RM20. All the proceeds from the sales are either donated to the needy or used to fund our charity projects, such as our Vision Care project where some 100 spectacles were donated to needy pupils. We also run a home makeover project where homes of selected needy families are renovated,” said Chris.

Apart from second-hand goods, the store also sells handmade crafts such as earrings and pouches made by underprivileged children and single mothers who are unable to leave their homes to work. All proceeds immediately go back to the craft makers.

“We try to help everyone from all walks of life. As long as they are in need, they deserve our help. Once a month, we also donate to animal shelters to help them buy necessary provisions. It’s not a lot but we know it helps,” said Chris who strongly believes that any help we provide will definitely create a positive outcome.
